Video Premiere: Sleep Steady and Konrad Oldmoney’s “Fight Kicks”
The raucous video hypes up any listener

More and more, Seattle duo Sleep Steady is gaining recognition in the Seattle hip-hop scene with its spastic raps and electric stage presence. Fresh off opening the Bernie Sanders rally on Sunday (with fellow rapper Spekulation), the duo has released its spicy new video for “Fight Kicks,” featuring the production by Konrad Oldmoney. The track is one of two the band placed in the new EA Sports video game, UFC 2.
The shots in the video are reminiscent of those special nights in the city when you can feel the warmth on your skin; the bond between friends and collaborators is palpable like the humidity. It’s not a night you can plan. Rather, it’s one that happens spontaneously when the right energies collide. And that is exactly what Sleep Steady do: collide into each other energetically (think: Beastie Boys meets Mike Tyson), causing a piñata of sonic dopeness to explode.
Enough from me. Watch for yourself:
