Frye Lands in Seattle With These Festival-Ready Shoes
The popular boot brand's first Northwest store opened in Seattle this month.
By Seattle Mag May 31, 2017
Earlier this month, boot-maker Frye opened its first Seattle store at the University Village, filling its 3,000-square-foot space with its classic boots, shoes, bags and accessories. Decked out in photos of Seattle music icons shot by Jesse Frohman, the artisanal-loving brand is right at home in a city that adores its rocker roots as much as its Instagram-worthy #liveauthentic scenery and style.
Following Frye’s nod to our musical legacy, we want to celebrate Frye’s arrival with a salute to three oh-so-Seattle music festivals and three pairs of Frye shoes to pair with them.
What: Helena A Line ($158)
Where: Timber! Outdoor Music Festival in Carnation (7/13-15)
Why: With Timber’s campfire-in-the-woods vibe, we can’t resist a comfy slip-on (offered in a variety of colors) to kick on and off. Go bold in a red suede to go with your trusty jeans and flannel.
What: Heather 2 Piece Woven ($428)
Where: Capitol Hill Block Party (7/21-23)
Why: Capitol Hill is not the place to be shy—and that also applies to your shoes. Get some extra height to see over the crowd in these stylish geometric wedges, available in tan multi. As for the rest of your outfit, at the block party anything goes!
What: Carson Deco Zip ($258)
Where: Bumbershoot at Seattle Center (9/1-3)
Why: We’re matching a classic Seattle festival with a classic flat sandal. But just like Bumbershoot, this pair is anything but boring. Keep the heels minimal for trekking between performances, but don’t be afraid to jazz it up with studs and stitching in this sand option.
