!–paging_filter–pNot sure you’ve heard, but there’s a major parade taking place in Seattle today./p
pAround 300,000 people are expected to line the streets from Belltown to SODO to welcome the Seahawks home after their big Super Bowl win. The parade starts at 11 am at 4th and Denny and is expected to end around 1:30 pm at CenturyLink./p
pWhat does that mean for those looking to grab a bite? Well, first, a car is going to be useless. Second, it won’t be shocking if most restaurants see a major surge after the parade ends. But if you aren’t brown bagging it today, and consider yourself a moderate risk taker, here are 12 restaurant suggestions for the 12th Man to grab lunch near the parade route.nbsp;/p
pstrongPioneer Square/strong/p
pema href=”http://ilcorvopasta.com/” target=”_blank”Il Corvo/a/em: If you don’t mind standing in yet another line, Il Corvo’s got you covered with some of the city’s best pasta dishes and daily specials. Lunch is served 11-3p./p
pema href=”http://altstadtseattle.com/Altstadt/willkommen.html” target=”_blank”Altstadt/a/em: If your appetite rivals a lumberjack’s, this German beer hall will not disappoint. Plates brimming with brats, kraut, and fries will kill your hunger pang with a vengeance. Lunch is served starting at 11 and continues all day./p
pema href=”http://www.barsajor.com/index2.html” target=”_blank”Bar Sajor/a/em: It’s a little fancy-pants, but you might just need a stunning setting after being crammed between all those unwashed jerseys (Come on, guys. We won! Time to make friends with the washing machine). The poached chicken salad and focaccia “pizzas” are big hits. Lunch is served 11-3p./p
pstrongDowntown/strong/p
pema href=”http://michaelmina.net/restaurants/locations/rnwa.php” target=”_blank”RN74/a/em: No need to fine dine at this restaurant directly in the path of the parade. Grab a seat at the bar and order off the French bistro menu. The only thing to rival the high of a victory parade is the RN’s mushroom tempura. Lunch is served 11:30-2p./p
pema href=”http://www.themetropolitangrill.com/” target=”_blank”Metropolitan Grill/a/em: Steaks, sandwiches, salads, crab cakes, martinis – all classic steakhouse sized – and oversized high-back booths are like giant warm hugs on a freezing day like today. Lunch is served 11-3p./p
pema href=”http://www.lecosho.com/” target=”_blank”Lecosho/a/em: Always a solid choice for downtown dining. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the tuna sandwich and house-made sausage with lentils are pretty great. Lunch is served 11-3p.nbsp;/p
pstrongBelltown/strong/p
pTom Douglas has cornered the Belltown neighborhood when it comes to lunch. Head to ema href=”http://tomdouglas.com/index.php?page=lola” target=”_blank”Lola/a/emnbsp;(11-4p) for Greek, ema href=”http://tomdouglas.com/index.php?page=serious-pie” target=”_blank”Serious Pie/a/emnbsp;(11a-all day) for some of the best pizza around, ema href=”http://tomdouglas.com/index.php?page=dahlia-lounge” target=”_blank”Dahlia Lounge/a/emnbsp;(11:30-2:30p) for a taste of classic Northwest Tom D., and ema href=”http://tanakasanseattle.com/” target=”_blank”Tanakasan/a/emnbsp;(11-2:30p) in the Via 6 apartment complex for Asian-inspired dishes./p
pstrong Pike Place Market/strong/p
pema href=”http://lepichetseattle.com/” target=”_blank”Le Pichet/a/em: If at any time you find yourself “so over” the parade, a good way to pretend you’re not in Seattle is to pretend you’re in France. Le Pichet will transport you out of the green and blue haze with simple plates of charcuterie, cheese, terrines, baked eggs and wine. Lunch is served 11:30-5:30p./p
pema href=”http://www.mattsinthemarket.com/” target=”_blank”Matt’s in the Market/a/em: If only the parade came through Pike Place Market, you’d have the best view from the upper echelon of the corner market building where MITM lives. Seafood and produce from right across the cobblestone street is what’s on the menu here. Plus, the giant Public Market Center clock beaming through the arched windows is a great way to time your downtown exit./p
