In days named after colors news, 21-year-old college student Lucy Capron has started Teal Tuesday in support of the Mariners. Much like our Blue Fridays, in which devoted Seahawks fans wear blue to show love for the professional football team, on Tuesdays you’re now to don your finest teal duds for the M’s. Capron’s Facebook page for TT has 177 likes right now, but we suspect that will get much higher as the colorful day catches on.

The Seattle Police Department has launched its Neighborhood Response Team, a unit dedicated to eradicating the streets of low-level crime and “getting chronic offenders the help they need,” MyNorthwest.com reports. Among the low-level crimes the group of six officers and one sergeant will address: street disorder such as “defecating or urinating in public, drinking in public, smoking marijuana in a public space, or violating a city ordinance that prohibits people from sitting or sleeping on sidewalks between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.” in areas surrounding Westlake Park and Pike Place Market.
