Must See
Pippin at the Paramount
(Through 8/23, times vary)
Directed by Tony Awardwinner Diane Paulus and with choreography by Bob Fosse, this 1973 musical tells the story of a young prince on the prowl for a passionate, meaningful life.

  Must Go Outside
Outdoor Arts Festivals
(Dates and times vary) Take art appreciation alfresco with the walkable outdoor installations at SAM Remix at the Olympic Sculpture Park (8/21) and the Arts in Nature Festival at Camp Long in West Seattle (8/22 to 8/23) and the NEPO 5K Don’t Run art walk from the Chinatown-International District to Beacon Hill (8/29).

   Must Marvel
Snakes and Dinos at the Burke
(8/22 to 11/15, times vary) Size matters at the Burke Museum this season, where natural history nuts can gaze upon both the locally unearthed theropod dinosaur thigh bone and a full-scale replica of a 48-foot-long Titanoboa “monster snake” (thankfully found nowhere near us).

  Must Taste
Stroll Old
Bellevue‘s Taste of Main
Saturday (8/22, 12 to 5 p.m.) Snag a tasting passport to eat and drink your way down Bellevue’s historic Main Street, which will be bustling with sips from the likes of Swiftwater Cellars and Blue Water Distillery, as well as gourmet snacks from restaurants such as 520 Bar & Grill, 99 Park and Cantinetta.

Must Bravo
Seattle Opera’s World Premiere of An American Dream
(8/21 to 8/23, times vary) With
just two performances, this set-in-World War II opera explores a Japanese American woman facing internment and a German Jewish immigrant preoccupied by those she left behind and their struggles to maintain a sense of place in the Puget Sound region
