For oenophiles: The recently renovated Hotel Vintage downtown (1100 Fifth Ave.; 206.624.8000; hotelvintage-seattle.com. $269–$549 per night) offers an immersion into Washington wine, starting in the lobby/tasting room, with wine racks stocked with the good stuff and nightly pours—arranged with wineries such as DeLille Cellars, Kestrel Vintners and Chateau Ste. Michelle. The guest rooms feature custom headboards made from some 88,000 recycled wine corks, and purple couches—all the better to hide spills?

For chillaxers: The only area hotel set on the shores of Lake Washington, The Woodmark in Kirkland (1200 Carillon Point; 425.654.5233; thewoodmark.com. $229–$339 per night), marked its 25th anniversary with a luxurious modern update conceived by revered local designer Susan Marinello, including marble floors and martini bars in guest rooms, along with deep soaking tubs, rain showerheads and cool blue tones in the suites that reflect the watery views.

For urban explorers: Formerly an unassuming Red Lion Hotel downtown, the revamped Motif Seattle (1415 Fifth Ave.; 206.971.8000; motifseattle.com; $199–$399 per night) was inspired by Seattle’s thriving music, fashion and arts scene. In addition to receiving architectural and interior updates by local firm Ankrom Moisan, Motif will regularly incorporate special amenities by local designers, the first of which is Jordan Christianson of Jonquil & Mr. Black, who created exclusive floral textiles for the launch.
