By Seattle magazine staff August 14, 2014
Must Taste
Chow Down Along Old Bellevue’s Main Street
Saturday (8/16, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) — Secure a $40 tasting passport and sample cuisine from some of Old Bellevue’s beloved restaurants, including Monsoon East, Cantinetta and the newest hot spot, 99 Park.
Must Exhibit
Become an Instant Art Curator at Frye Museum via Social Media
(Through 8/22, times vary) — From now through August 22, log into Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or Tumblr, view 232 works of art in the Frye Museum’s collection, then “like” your favorite. Paintings with the most likes will be hung in the museum’s #SocialMedium exhibit, where voters’ names will be displayed as “citizen curators.”
Must Shop
A Rag & Bone Pop-Up, New Private Label Collection at Nordstrom
(Dates and times vary) — A pop-up shop of epic proportions hit downtown Nordstrom and Bellevue Square last Friday and runs until Saturday, September 7. This and other splurge-worthy events are happening at our favorite local department store.
Must Drink
Seattle Artisan Beer Tasting
Saturday (8/16, times vary) — Get ready for this beer-filled event, featuring a collection of two dozen artisan beers, including brews from Elysian and Schooner Exact, available for sampling in two sessions at the Pike Brewing Beer Garden rooftop.
Must Listen
Jam During Summer at SAM
Thursday (8/14, 6 to 9 p.m.) — Bring a blanket (or arrive early to snag one of the provided bean bags) and settle in for a free evening concert on the Olympic Sculpture Park lawn, complete with food trucks and beer and wine for sale. On tap this week is groovy local jazz band Industrial Revelation.
