Consignment Steals in Downtown Kirkland

A designer enclave is well worth the S.R. 520 bridge toll.

Consignment hounds, this designer enclave is well worth the S.R. 520 bridge toll: Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Ragamoffynn’s still reigns as the Eastside queen of consignment; owner Gisela Manning’s shrewd eye keeps the high-end couture stock flush with elite designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Chanel (boots!). If your wallet is nearly empty, head for the sale section in back, where prices hover around 50 percent off.

Tucked in at the corner of Park Lane and Main Street, Absolutely Fabulous Consignment is unpretentious and, indeed, fabulous: It takes sifting, and can be hit or miss, but if you happen to find a jackpot (say, designer loafers for less than $100) you’ll score big with 70 to 90 percent off retail prices.

No digging required at Serendipity Consignment boutique; friends Lisa Lee and Mary Bennett keep their shop on Lake Street in tip-top shape, consigning collections less than 2 years old from the likes of 7 For All Mankind, Michael Stars and Banana Republic.

Extra incentive
After a name and location change, Asher Goods (formerly Asher Anson in Ballard) has adopted a new focus for its Kirkland digs. Now catering exclusively to the gents, with an emphasis on products made in the good ol’ USA, Asher carries trusted lines such as Filson and Stetson, sprinkling in new collections such as Eugene, Oregon’s super-hot Will Leather Goods leather knapsacks ($175-$275), bracelets ($40-$60) and belts ($75-$88).

Parking
Plentiful street parking is available on side streets just east of Lake Street; Third and Central is a good intersection to start and then traverse south.

Even just one purchase — a computer, for instance — can recoup a basic membership fee. Rumors have been swirling for years that the company would raise its…
