WHY: For the sixth annual Craft Bazaar (11/30–12/2. Times vary. Mighty Tieton Warehouse, 608 Wisconsin Ave.; 509.847.3034; mightytieton.com), which brings together nearly 60 Northwest artists and their wares, including caramels from Yakima-based Copper Pot and fine book arts from Tieton’s own Paper Hammer. The bazaar also hosts a chandelier show, where wildly imagined and hand-crafted fixtures light up the Mighty Tieton Warehouse.
WHILE YOU’RE THERE: Visit Tieton Cider Works (321 Humphrey Road; 509.673.2880; tietonciderworks.com), where Washington apples meet their maker. Owners Craig and Sharon Campbell always have a table at the Craft Bazaar, proffering samples and selling cider and gift boxes. But the cidery itself is only about five minutes south of the Warehouse, and certainly worth a side trip.
GETTING THERE: From Seattle, take Interstate 90 east toward Ellensburg, then take U.S. Hwy. 97 south and Interstate 82 east toward Yakima. Exit onto U.S. Hwy. 12 west and follow signs to Tieton.
