We’ve already talked about the vintage clothing sale that I have a booth at this weekend (for those of you who don’t know, or haven’t already gleaned, I’m thrift-store obsessed. Yep, me and my man, Macklemore) and I’m here with more info on it, straight from the organizers.

To recap: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, October 13 and 14, VintageEvent Productions in the U Village area (4535 Union Bay Place NE) will be filled with thousands of vintage clothing items (including vintage tuxedos), patterns, fabrics, notions, hats, shoes, accessories and jewelry. They’ve got a a big dressing room to make trying stuff on a snap, as well as a room filled with hundreds of Halloween-ready vintage costumes. How much more perfect could the timing of this sale be?

Parking can be tricky at this location, with spots available either in the pay lot at Safeway ($2 for two hours) or on the second level of the Union Bay Garage across the street.

The YWCA Closet Treasure Sale is also this weekend, on Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Redmond Town Center. Proceeds from this amazing sale, the organization’s tenth, go to support Dress for Success Seattle, a program that provides professional attire and career development tools for women in need.

The YWCA has created a great blog to highlight the fab fashions to be found at the sale, which include an Oscar de la Renta blouse for $20, leopard print platform booties from Dolce Vita for $25, a skirt from Marc by Marc Jacobs, and a cardigan from Leifsdottir for $25! I mean, seriously. Amazing deals. Do the YWCA Closet Sale on Saturday and you’ll still have room in your budget to hit the vintage sale on Sunday – where I know at least I’ll be making some sweet deals.  See you there!

Costco Hikes Membership Fees

The company last raised the price in 2017

[addtoany]I love shopping at Costco. Sure, our household doesn’t always need 18 tubes of toothpaste at once, but that’s a small price to pay for the savings. Even just one purchase — a computer, for instance — can recoup a basic membership fee. Rumors have been swirling for years that the company would raise its…

Tinsel, eggnog, mistletoe, and luggage

Travel lovers are the easiest people to buy for. Wrap a gift in old maps and they’ll spend hours deciphering the roadways and important coordinates. Put something inside the wrapping that will satiate their wanderlust, or encourage it, and you might be their next invitee to Paris.
