When the warm weather (finally) rolls around, we quickly turn our attention to making our outdoor spaces summer ready.

While focusing on these spaces, it’s nice to bring some of those summer, outdoor elements inside, so we can have a taste of the warm-weather months all year long. Bringing the outside in is all about using natural elements and colors to make your home feel as relaxing and carefree as summer!

1. Natural woven furniture and accessories lend an instant vacation feel to your space.

Double hanging rattan chair, $695, Serena and Lily

Braided hemp pouf, $79.95, CB2

Decorative wall baskets, starting at $59, West Elm

2. Indigo blues bring rich saturated color like the ocean on a clear day.

Floral velvet applique pillow covers, $129, Williams-Sonoma

3. Swap out your heavy wool rugs for seagrass and sisal varieties that are visually much lighter and achieve a beachy look.

Round jute rug, from $179, Pottery Barn

4. Add succulents and air plants to bring some living things inside. For beautiful succulents and air plants check out The Palm Room and Midnight Blossom, both in Ballard.

Live plant glass terrarium with driftwood, $49.99, World Market

5. Crisp, clean whites feel like summer and offer a beautiful contrast to rich blue- and sandy-colored decor.
