Glassybaby’s Perfectly Imperfect Sale Will Bring a Big Crowd
The cult following for the philanthropic Seattle hand-made glass company might already be waiting to get their hands on hugely discounted products.

Tomorrow, glassybaby will host its highly anticipated bi-annual Perfectly Imperfect sale at the company’s warehouse in SoDo (624 South Lander Street, Suite 36) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fans of the one-of-a-kind hand-blown glass votives and drinkers can save big on the pieces that normally sell for $50 a pop.
“Our teams check each votive and we make for over 20 points of perfection. If a votive misses even one of these categories, it’s immediately deemed a second,” Alyssa Frankel, corporate sales manager at glassybaby. “This can mean anything from a large bubble, too short or the wrong color to things the naked eye might not even notice such as a glassblower’s tool mark or a small rock from our furnaces.”
The Seattle-based company’s eye for design and admirable philanthropic mission – they donate 10 percent of all sales to charity – has created a bit of a cult following, with frenzy for the sale almost mirroring that of an iPhone launch. Some zealous glassybaby fans will arrive on Friday afternoon and the majority of the anticipated 1,500 attendees will likely secure their spot in line between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
But if there isn’t enough coffee in the world to get you out of bed that early, don’t worry too much; Frankel said “We are constantly restocking the tables so new colors are always being put out the entire day.”
One die-hard fan will have an opportunity to shop starting at 7:50 a.m., ten minutes before anyone else, as a result of this year’s “first in line” promotion. And in keeping with glassybaby’s charitable tradition, 10 percent of all sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
