May is National Bike Month, and among all the obvious reasons biking is great (exercise, lessening carbon emissions and reducing transportation costs) the Bicycle Benefit Program is another incentive to get people pedaling around the city.

To join the program, cyclists must make a one-time $5 sticker purchase from any participating location and stick it on their helmets (safety first). Once the sticker is on the helmet, cyclists have access to more than 150 discounts at local businesses. Some participating locations include Theo’s Chocolate, Café Vita, Full Tilt, Skillet Diner and any of Seattle’s farmers markets (see the full list of locations here and look for the sticker on counters and in windows at your favorite spots). Discounts vary from 10% off your purchase to half off pints of beer to free fruit. Whether you’re dipping your toes into cycling during National Bike Month or a pro riding around town, support local businesses and take advantage of these deals.
