If you’ve wanted the advantages of private jet travel without the cost, a new service is putting that style of travel within reach. JSX, a Dallas-based public air carrier, expanded its service to Seattle in July, with daily service from King County International Airport at Boeing Field (BFI) to Oakland. Fares start at $99 one way, and the 30-seat jets offer comforts such as generous legroom, with a 36-inch seat pitch.

Part of the secret to JSX’s affordability—and the short check-in lines that allow passengers to arrive just a half-hour before flight time—is the efficiency and high frequency the company can achieve working in small air terminals like Boeing Field for short-haul travel between highly desirable markets, says Alex Wilcox, cofounder and CEO of JSX. Other JSX destinations include Concord, Burbank and Orange County in California, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. All of this creates a streamlined customer experience that feels like private jet travel without the sky-high price.
