If your taste runs toward the high end, but your budget doesn’t, consignment shopping for home furnishings is where it’s at. Not only can you find deals galore at these shops, but you can sell your own gently used furniture to offset the price of your new-to-you pieces. Consignment stores tend to offer a varied inventory in a range of styles and prices. Buyer beware: Turnover is high and the time to buy it is when you see it. A few of our favorite spots include:

Bell’Occhio (Interbay, 1435 Elliott Ave. W; 206.323.8833), a cavernous 10,000-square-foot 1910 warehouse on Elliott Avenue West that’s filled with a range of items, from contemporary pieces to Asian and French antiques from wealthy estates.

A quick skip down the road is Consign Design (1630 15th Ave. W; 206.345.0009), loaded with gently used treasures.

High-end with high style, Modele’s Home Furnishings (South Lake Union, 964 Denny Way; 206.287.9942) has been in the resale business since 1995, dealing in designer and custom-made home décor, with a focus on contemporary and modern style.

While in the neighborhood, be sure to peruse the excellently curated selection of Asian antiques and furnishings at Glenn Richards and Honeychurch Antiques, with which it shares the large warehouse space.
