The Best Thing Our Senior Editor Ate This Week

Mamnoon's take on the hot dog is all Seattle

By Seattle Mag April 11, 2016

A sandwich and a drink on a table.

Here’s the grub our senior editor Lara Hale is raving about this week:

“Full disclosure: I love Mamnoon. I live about a block away, and I take full advantage year-round, but it’s a firm favorite in warm weather, when I can walk my dog over and grab a spot on the tiny patio out front. On a glorious sunny afternoon, inspired by our recent piece on the history of the “Seattle Dog”, I decided to try Mamnoon’s take: the Seattle Kefta Dog “Arayess,” a seasoned beef kefta on a housemade bun topped with tomato, onion and cucumber piccalilli—and of course, labneh, Middle Eastern cream cheese, the ingredient that makes a Seattle Dog a Seattle Dog.

It’s delicious—exotic and familiar all at once—and perfect accompanied by a glass of the restaurant’s refreshing mint lemonade.”
