It’s already shaping up to be one exciting year next year with several yummy dining and drinking spots launching new outposts in Seattle.

First, Taiwan-based dumpling darling Din Tai Fung will open at Pacific Place in the summer of 2016. The chain, whose steamed dumplings and spicy wontons have people flocking to its Bellevue Square and University Village locales, will take over a 9,216-square-foot space on the luxe shopping center’s fourth level in between Mexico Cantina y Cocina and Pike Place Chowder. Din Tai Fung currently operates more than 100 locations around the globe, with six in the U.S.

“We are so thankful for the overwhelming support we’ve received since we opened our first store in Bellevue five years ago and are excited to be opening our third restaurant in the heart of the Emerald City,” David Wasielewski, managing partner at Din Tai Fung, said in a press release. “We believe this downtown Seattle destination at Pacific Place will be a great market for us and we look forward to servicing the local clientele as well as the area’s out of town visitors.”

Beer lovers, rejoice: Earlier today, longtime local craft brewer Redhook Brewery broke ground for its new Capitol Hill brewpub, which will be located in the new Pike Motorworks building at 714 E. Pike street. The 9,700-square-foot location is Redhook’s first Seattle-area pub since 1998 when its Fremont Trolleyman location was relocated to Woodinville. (The craft brewer got its start in 1981 in Ballard and currently operates breweries in Woodinville and Portsmouth, N.H.)

While the new Capitol Hill outpost will offer food, Redhook notes that it will focus on serving a mix of classic brews such as ESB and Ballard Bitter and exclusive small-batch brews using its 10-barrel brewery system. Construction is already in progress and the brewpub is expected to open in the fall of 2016, just in the nick of time for the craft brewer’s 35th anniversary.
