Whether baked in a pie or eaten fresh, berries are a quintessential summer treat. Get your fingers red and blue and every shade in between at these local U-pick berry farms this summer. U-pick is a great way to support local farms and you get the freshest fruit typically for less than retail costs— so bring friends or family and spend an afternoon harvesting some of the Northwest’s finest berries.

Bainbridge Island Blueberry Co. (Bainbridge Island): blueberries

Cost: Blueberries $4.00/lb. Cash only.

Bill’s Berry Farm (Grandview): blueberries, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries*, apricots and apples.

Cost: Blueberries $3.15/lb; cherries $2.45-$3.45/lb; raspberries $3.35/lb; blackberries $3.35/lb; apples $1.35/lb; apricots $1.15/lb.  Cash or card accepted at the Farm Store, all other sales stations are cash only.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 4 – 8 p.m.; Friday-Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Biringer Farm (Arlington) Strawberries*, raspberries, black caps (black raspberries), blackberries, blueberries, and tayberries*

Blue Dot Farm (Enumclaw): blueberries

Cost: $30/large bucket and $15/small bucket. Cash only.

Bolles Organic Berry Farm (Monroe): raspberries and strawberries

Cost: Strawberries $2.50/lb; raspberries $4.00/lb. Cash or card.

Bryant Blueberry Farm and Nursery (Arlington): blueberries, tayberries, boysenberries, currants, blackberries, aronia berries

Cost: Blueberries $2.50/lb; tayberries $3.00/lb; boysenberries, currants, and blackberries $3.00/lb; aronia berries $4.00/lb. Cash or card.

Bybee Farms (North Bend): blueberries 

Cost: $2.50/lb. Cash or check only.

Canter-Berry Farms (Auburn): blueberries

Harvold Berry Farm (Carnation): strawberries and raspberries
