One of the heavy hitters in Seattle’s booming “kindie rock” scene is branching out into books. West Seattle’s Caspar Babypants (aka Chris Ballew of the Presidents of the United States of America) has teamed up with his wife, artist Kate Endle, to release two kids’ books, complete with sweet sing-along songs. MY WOODLAND WISH ($16.99), for kids 3 and older, takes readers on a meandering walk through nature; younger tots will devour (possibly literally) the clever, chew-worthy board book BUNNY RABBIT IN THE SUNLIGHT ($9.99), which opens with a rooster cock-a-doodle-doing in the morning light and ends with turning off the light and saying “Night, night.” With charming collage illustrations and gentle, just-right read-aloud plots, the stories are released by Seattle’s own Sasquatch Books; you can download the songs for free at babypantsmusic.com.
