This Eastside Restaurant is Giving Away Free Oysters Today
Head to Pearl in Bellevue for a happy hour slurp fest.

When was the last time you went to Bellevue specifically for happy hour? (If you don’t work there, that is.) Well, the time is nigh: Pearl Seafood and Oyster Bar is offering free oysters today starting at 3 p.m.
There are a few rules, of course. You have to sit in the lounge—so, 21 and over only, which is probably a plus. You also have to order something from the happy hour menu, where everything is just $6, from glasses of Chateau Ste. Michelle brut to sliders or calamari.
The oysters are from Taylor Shellfish, and each table gets a dozen to start. So while it may be tempting to go with a big group—and the restaurant is large enough to accommodate—my recommendation is bringing a book, ordering an old fashioned and enjoying that whole damn dozen yourself. Go early, because when they’re gone, they’re gone.
Pearl’s promo will be a recurring event, but future dates aren’t scheduled yet (in other words, don’t count on this being an every-Friday occurrence). But since oysters are a happy hour necessity, future Fridays (or really any day between 3 and 6 p.m. or after 9 p.m.) should be spent at Monsoon’s Bellevue location, where Pacific oysters are just $1.50 each and come with optional cilantro lime mignonette. The modern Vietnamese restaurant is best known for dinner, but happy hour is a great time to go—add some claypot clams, crispy pork belly and wokked bok choy to your oysters and make a whole (admittedly early) meal out of it.
