Hey pals and gals, a little TGIF love coming your way courtesy of some (great) sales and shop gossip:

I had a mixed happy/sad reaction after the news from the folks at Asher Anson this week: They are closing up their Ballard shop (sad) to move to the Eastside (yay!). The move will also be timed with a re-brand, the chic company will drop the ‘Anson’ to become solely ‘Asher’. Ladies, heave a sigh, Asher will be all about the dudes (I’m happy for you guys, really), as the new digs will focus on men’s apparel and accessories. So ladies, snag the last few women’s pieces on sale at the Ballard shop now through March 27th.

Also on sale watch this weekend: downtown bag boutique Clutch is offering up to 50 to 70 percent of designer bags from the likes of Rebecca Minkoff and Sabrina Love.

There has been a whole lot of hoo-ha in the last couple of months over the, once revolutionary but formaldehyde laden, Brazilian Blow-Out. So my fellow Curly Sues, I’ve got great news: as of last week, Bocz Salon downtown is the first in the city to offer the newly reformulated, chemical-free Brazilian Blowout Zero treatment. I spoke to GM Sheridan Bates this week, who told me that the new stuff is still delivering the same straight n’ smooth tresses. Right now the salon is offering a special $250 charge on Tuesdays, or $350 the other days of the week.

If you didn’t already acknowledge that the Ace Hotel is super cool, you will know: the hotel has crafted an in-house line of goods in collaboration with Vancouver clothing co, Wings + Horns. Apparently Wings is behind the hotel’s almost-legendary in-room robes, and has now expanded the hotel line to include the same cush and comfort in a hoodie. Ace also sells tennies, ironic t-shirts and flannel shirts on a new shopping page on their website- good news for us locals who don’t want to book a room solely to languish in one of those robes. Check it here.

And a not-so subtle reminder: the submission deadline for our Seamless in Seattle fashion design contest is just 4 weeks from today. Get to sewing, full details on how to enter here.

Costco Hikes Membership Fees

The company last raised the price in 2017

[addtoany]I love shopping at Costco. Sure, our household doesn’t always need 18 tubes of toothpaste at once, but that’s a small price to pay for the savings. Even just one purchase — a computer, for instance — can recoup a basic membership fee. Rumors have been swirling for years that the company would raise its…

Travel lovers are the easiest people to buy for. Wrap a gift in old maps and they’ll spend hours deciphering the roadways and important coordinates. Put something inside the wrapping that will satiate their wanderlust, or encourage it, and you might be their next invitee to Paris.
