Must Go Greek
Montlake’s 56th Annual Greek Festival
(10/7 to 10/9, times vary) You don’t need to be a philosopher to understand that the 56th annual Greek Festival in Seattle’s Montlake neighborhood is a good idea. Classic Greek specialties such as loukoumathes, lamb, baklava and gyros await you while you enjoy music from Taki and the Mad Greeks.

Must Get Geeky
GeekGirlCon Takes Over the Convention Center
(10/8 to 10/9, times vary) Calling all Seattle-area geeks: GeekGirlCon’s two-day convention features a “geek fashion” show, and panel topics such as “building positive nerd communities.” The organization celebrates women involved in geek cultures (comics, arts, literature, gaming, science and technology). The wide range of offerings includes an Artist Alley, collectibles, and table top games and gaming workshops.

Must Register to Vote
Don’t Miss the Deadline to Register
Monday (10/10, times vary) We know you have strong feelings about the upcoming presidential election—who doesn’t? Now act on your convictions and vote. But first, make sure you’re registered. October 10 is the online and mail-in deadline to register to vote in the general election and October 31 is the in-person deadline. You’ll need a current Washington state ID, and you must be a United States citizen, a legal resident of Washington state and at least 18 years old.

Must Celebrate
Fun Times at the Northwest Folklife’s Seattle Children’s Festival
Sunday (10/9, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) The third annual Children’s Festival, “Celebrating Our Big Neighborhood,” introduces kids to new cultures and traditions through a variety of mediums and programs. The festival will include interactive events, such as dances from around the world; hands-on activities; guest speakers; musicians; and much more.

Must Swoon
Stunning Yves Saint Laurent Exhibit Opens at SAM
(10/11 to 1/8, times vary) Don’t wait to get your tickets for what promises to be a blockbuster exhibition as the Seattle Art Museum presents Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style, with highlights from the legendary designer’s 44-year career.
