Seafair Festivites: Grab your sunglasses and head to Lake Washington for Seafair weekend. The summer-long celebration will culminate with boat races, live music and family fun at Genesee Park in Rainier Valley. As always, the weekend highlight will be the Blue Angels and their dazzling-but-heartstopping aerial performances. Single-day tickets range from $10-$30 and can be purchased at seafair.com. Swing by tomorrow if you’re on a budget– it’s free admission on Friday only!

Weekend Weather: If you do go to Seafair, be prepared for some heat; it looks like the end of July will be just as hot as the start. Near 90-degree temperatures are predicted for this weekend and will last until Monday, according to KOMO News. Seattle has already had eight days in the 90s this year, one day short of the standing record. If this hot weather continues, we’ll blow that record right out of the cool, oh-so-refreshing water.

Take-Backsies: Fear thee not, single-family homebuyers! According to KING 5 News, Mayor Ed Murray will no longer pursue a City Council committee recommendation to “relax” the allowed zoning of single-family units in the city. Instead, he says, he wants to “refocus the discussion on designing denser Urban Centers, Urban Villages and along transit corridors that include more affordable housing.” Get more details here.

Gym Rats: Take extra care when putting your belongings away at the gym. KOMO reports that thieves are targeting local fitness clubs, using bolt cutters to remove locks from lockers and then stealing the contents. One woman says the thieves stole her purse and went on a $1,000 shopping spree with her credit card. Exercise at your own risk. Read more here.
