Universal university restrooms: There’s a new demand for additional gender-neutral bathrooms at the University of Washington, thanks to some smart students who think the university’s current crop of universal spots to do your business is not enough. According to KING 5 News, “each new building on the UW campus includes at least one gender-neutral restroom,” but students hope more will be installed. An “audit is underway” regarding the amount of restrooms to be added, however no number or deadline has been made public as of yet. 

If you’re unsure whether or not to “hold on” or “stand behind the yellow line” while riding a Metro bus, it’s probably because King County Metro scrapped those messages, which MyNorthwest.com notes sounded every time a bus door closed, on Sunday after deterimining the announcements “were too frequent and too loud for passengers.”

Cats! Dogs! KOMO News has photos of 10 very adorable and adoptable pets from Woodinville’s Homeward Pet, a no-kill animal shelter that manages to find homes for more than 1,600 cats and dogs and puppies and kittens every year. I can’t even handle number 10–so darling.

The south Seattle-based Zonar Systems is opening an engineering office in downtown Seattle, Geekwire reports. Look for the company, which provides electronic fleet inspection, tracking and operations solutions for public and private fleets, to open its post in Seattle’s Exchange Building. It will hire an additional 50 people for the new office.
