Jeweler Kimberly Baker, whose work ranges from tough to feminine, trendy to mystical, and has been worn by many a celebrity during her 15 year career, is returning to retail (her flagship Fremont shop closed earlier this year) with a new space near Green Lake. Hurrah for us all!

Baker is sharing her new spot, located at 7214 Linden Ave. N., with super cool wedding dress store, The Dress Theory, wedding photographer Laurel McConnell, as well as Stardust salon and a make-up studio.  “It’s bridal corner over here,” laughs Baker, who, in addition to her main collection, has created a lower priced line using materials like neon-dyed coconut shells and powder coated metal, and is working on a bridal collection of her own.

The new showroom, which opens on Saturday, November 3 at 11 a.m., will be full of Baker’s and other local jewelry and accessory designer’s wares, as well as some carefully collected vintage pieces. November hours are Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with extended holiday hours in December.

Join the grand opening celebration on Saturday and score a free pair of earrings with any purchase over $100 and 15 percent off storewide to celebrate Baker’s 15 years of business.

Tinsel, eggnog, mistletoe, and luggage

Travel lovers are the easiest people to buy for. Wrap a gift in old maps and they’ll spend hours deciphering the roadways and important coordinates. Put something inside the wrapping that will satiate their wanderlust, or encourage it, and you might be their next invitee to Paris.
