Did someone say s’mores!? Hang on to your camping gear: Wednesday, August 10, is National S’mores Day. Thankfully, Seattle has no shortage of places and ways to celebrate. Check out these local treat-havens and raise a glass (of milk) to the unofficial dessert of the summer.

S’mores Day at Hot Cakes Molten Cakery

On August 10, from 4 p.m. to close, the confection creator will be roasting s’mores to order on the sidewalk outside both its Capitol Hill and Ballard locations. The summery treats will be made with its organic marshmallows, handmade graham crackers and cold-smoked chocolate ($5). If complex treats are more your style, there will also be s’mores bars and s’mores cookies on hand. Capitol Hill location: 1650 East Olive Way. Ballard Location: 5427 Ballard Avenue NW. 206.453.3792.

Theo Chocolate

Theo Chocolate is no stranger to s’mores-related celebrations, thanks to its annual S’mores Days at its Fremont factory. On August 11 and 12 from 12 to 5 p.m., treat yourself to grilled-to-order s’mores ($5) featuring handmade graham crackers, marshmallows and, naturally, Theo chocolate, all of which is made on site. Tip: To make your dive into dessert nirvana even more irresistable, order your s’more with one of Theo’s peanut butter cups. Even sweeter, $1 of each s’more will go to Food Lifeline, an organization dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington. 3400 Phinney Ave. N. 206.664.7812.

Hello Robin Cookies

Hello Robin, the beloved Capitol Hill bakery that sells cookies so good they’ve been known to elicit tears of joy, is a brilliant place to go on any day, but on National S’mores Day, you have the perfect excuse to nab one (or five) of its famous Mackles’more cookies made with Theo chocolate chunks. We don’t mind if we do. 522 19th Ave. E. 206.735.7970.

Want to make them yourself?

You’re in luck: Hot Cakes’ has a DIY S’mores kit ($30), which includes all the ingredients for six delectable treats. If you’d rather get creative in the kitchen, try out this recipe for s’more cream puffs from local blogger Rachel Dart of Spache the Spatula. Equally delcious: this big, gooey monster s’more cake from Mackenzie Schieck of Pine and Crave. (Bonus: it’s gluten and dairy free!)

This article has been editing since its original publication to reflect the correct pricing on Theo Chocolate’s grilled-to-order s’mores. They are $5, not $4.
