It’s time for a wine country road trip! As with any season, you’ll find exceptional Yakima Valley wines where Washington wine was born, but there’s more to the experience this time of year.

While you can find tasting rooms in many corners of our state, a fall getaway to wine country is a whole different experience. As harvest and crush began in early September, you can feel the excitement in the air from winemakers and growers alike. The grapes come off the vines and winemakers begin to craft the next great Yakima Valley vintage. Of course, the fall colors and vineyard views make wine tasting something to remember.

So, when to plan your trip? Catch the Crush, Oct. 8-9, kicks off the season with grape crushing, live music, fantastic food and vineyard tours. The rest of the season is an ideal time for a leisurely wine country road trip. Keep an eye on our calendar for winery events, live music, tours and tastings throughout fall.
