Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2017 on a huge, mixed-use development in downtown Bellevue’s central business district. The project, from Bellevue-based real estate investment and development company Fana Group of Companies, will include two high-rise towers with offices, retail and residential space and a hotel. We’ve just learned that San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will manage the new 120-room boutique hotel that’s slated to occupy its North Tower.

The luxury hotel, which does not yet have a name, will include a full-service street-level restaurant, a heated rooftop pool with adjacent event space and lounge, a fitness center and around 5,000-square-feet of meeting space. It will be Kimpton’s fifth hotel in Washington state (it currently operates Hotel Monaco Seattle, Hotel Vintage Seattle, the Palladian and the Alexis) and the brand’s eighth property in the Pacific Northwest.

“The Pacific Northwest has been an integral part of Kimpton’s growth story for more than two decades and we look forward to expanding our presence in one of the strongest markets in the country,” Kimpton ceo Mike DeFrino said in a press release. “The hotel’s prime location near some of downtown Bellevue’s best shopping and nightlife–not to mention the only rooftop hotel pool in the area, will be a draw for travelers. Our signature amenities like complimentary bikes and the nightly hosted wine hour will surely delight some new Kimpton fans as well.”

An opening date of 2019 has been set for the new Bellevue Kimpton property.

Last March, we reported that Starwood Hotels was set to open a 245-room W Hotel in Bellevue as part of the $1.2 million expansion of The Bellevue Collection. That property is scheduled to open in June 2017.
