Local Distillers Score High At the World Spirits Competition
Spirits makers went head to head in the San Fancisco World Spirits Competition
By Seattle Mag April 9, 2015
I spend a fair amount of time singing the praises of our local distillers. But it’s nice when others agree with me, and even nicer when the agreement comes from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, which just held its 2015 competition from March 19 – 22, with 1,580 entries.
The World Spirits Competition is “the largest, most influential international spirits competition in America, judged by a prestigious panel of nationally recognized spirits experts.” Check out the below awards garnered by our local distillers in this year’s competition – highlighted by Westland Distillery’s Best in Show and Double Gold in the Best Craft Distiller Whiskey category for its Sherry Wood American Single Malt whiskey – and raise a toast to all of them.
