WHAT: Richmond is often overlooked by visitors bound for Vancouver—its flashier B.C. neighbor—but the city steps into the limelight with this summer-weekends-only outdoor festival of Asian street food. As dusk settles, hundreds of booths come alive with strung lights, brightly colored banners, larger-than-life inflatable ducks, and the aroma of grilled, sautéed and deep-fried Asian delicacies.

COME HUNGRY: Dim sum, shrimp rolls, grilled octopus and countless more tasty bites are reasonably priced (about $3–$5 per serving) and served in petite portions for maximum menu exploration. SIDE TRIP: After recovering from your hum bao hangover, head to Vancouver’s Granville Island for breakfast, where market vendors sell everything from farm-fresh yogurt and piled-high seasonal fruit to piping hot muffins and flaky croissants.
