Starting Aug. 9, food trucks will fill the vacant parking lot of the old Molbak’s property in Woodinville.

Called “Food Truck Fridays,” the event will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and will feature a variety of cuisine types. The Washington State Food Truck Association says other days and times of the week will be added if “there is enough community interest.”

The association has held similar events across the region for years.

Fox13Seattle reports that nine different food trucks have signed up through Oct. 11.

Molbak’s Garden + Home was forced to close in January following a dispute with the developer of The Garden’s District, a privately funded project designed to transform more than 19 acres into a neighborhood with extensive garden space, apartments, retail shops and restaurants.

Molbak’s has since launched a new community initiative called the Green Phoenix Collaborative at Molbak’s featuring retail spaces, classes, and other events.
