There’s so much happening right now. We’ve got the scoop on a swanky new place to sip and shop. Check out our story on why Americans don’t take enough vacations (it’s because we’re working too much). Plus, read about Seattle’s new community center dedicated to our LGBTQIA+ seniors.

The Taste Northwest

June 28-30

11 a.m.-2 p.m., Washington State Fair, Free

With more than 70 food vendors, five stages of live entertainment, chef battles, and outdoor beer gardens, there’s something for everyone. Catch live music, carnival rides, browse shops, and celebrate local and international cuisine.

 

Once on This Island

June 22-July 14

2 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., Everett Performing Arts Center, $53+

Ti Moune is a young girl who sets out on an adventurous journey guided by island gods to reunite with her true love. This musical, with its Calypso beat, reworks the fairytale Little Mermaid. The songs and characters are imaginative and full of hope.


The Two Gentlemen of Verona

June 27-August 4

7 p.m., Several outdoor locations, Free

Seattle Shakespeare’s Wooden O presents The Two Gentlemen of Verona in Seattle-area parks. Grab a blanket, bring a picnic, and enjoy this classic comedy filled with love, friendship, and mistaken identities. No tickets needed, and seating is first-come, first-seated. Donations after the performance will be welcomed.

 


Seattle Pride Parade 

Sunday, June 30 

10 a.m.-2 p.m., Downtown Seattle, Free

Washington’s largest parade features 250+ community groups, nonprofits, and companies. This parade is all about celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. It’s the perfect way to wrap up Pride Month with love and unity.

Greenwood Car Show

Saturday, June 29

9 a.m.-5 p.m., Greenwood, Free

Classic cars, trucks, and hot rods take over Greenwood for this annual summer event. It’s a community festival and fundraiser, bringing people together to celebrate and support the neighborhood. Expect fun, food, and plenty of tricked-out cars.

 

Midsommarfest in the Pacific Northwest

Sunday, June 30

11 a.m.-6 p.m., St. Edward State Park, Free

Celebrate Midsommarfest with traditional Nordic music, dancing around the maypole, and tasty Scandinavian treats. There will be family-friendly activities and cultural performances. It’s day of connecting with Nordic heritage and making new summer memories.
