Pulp Design Studios’ principal interior designers, Beth Dotolo and Carolina V. Gentry, love color. They also understand the stereotypical Pacific Northwest aversion to it. Textiles, they say, are perhaps the easiest—and least committal—way to incorporate new colors and patterns into Northwest home decor.

To that end, the duo debuted a line of textiles with renowned fabric company S. Harris in March. The collection includes everything from embroidered geometric patterns to printed linens, in a deliberately selected range of textures and price points, and all are inspired by their international travels.

“We really wanted these to feel collected over time, rather than put together all at once,” Dotolo says, “like little souvenirs.”

The 10 statement textiles are designed for a wide variety of applications: upholstery, window coverings, pillows, to name just a few. Dotolo says greens and blues work especially well with the monochromatic Seattle gray.
