Seattle is just one of 23 cities on Condé Nast Traveler’s prestigious list of Best Places to Go in the U.S. for 2023.

“Seattle is a chameleonic city where change is a byword,” the outlet writes. “If you haven’t visited since the pandemic, you’ve got some catching up to do.”

The article cites the Central District’s reestablishment of African American heritage, renewed activity in the Denny Triangle, and the downtown waterfront redevelopment as reasons to visit. It also recommends staying in one of the several new high-tech boutique hotels in the South Lake Union neighborhood.

“All across the city, Seattle is reinventing itself,” the article notes.

Tourism is big business. The 27 million visitors to King County last year spent $5.6 billion, or 44% more than in 2021.
