You’d expect that with a motto like “Art from wood,” Seattle-based furniture maker Meyer Wells would specialize exclusively in the sort of slab tables that scream Pacific Northwest chic. And while that’s certainly an option—we wouldn’t mind working at one of its beautiful live-edge custom conference tables—our favorite piece from its newest collection is both smaller and sleeker.

The Finn laptop table ($1,188 each, minimum order of five), released in January, demonstrates that small spaces can still be well decorated and very functional. The 26-inch-wide table can be used in any room of a home: to hold a laptop while watching movies, to perch a drink at the end of the couch, as a small home workstation or for a TV dinner. Both base and legs, made of premium plywood with powder-coated steel details, are customizable. We particularly love the look of the blond “clear” top with a highland green or terra-cotta hued base.
