Located in the former Dish It Up space on Ballard Avenue, Culinary Essentials (Ballard, 5320 Ballard Ave. NW; 206.789.1334), originally an expansion of Bellevue’s J Culinary Essentials (now closed), serves up plenty of tableware and cooking gear, including Man Law barbecuing tools.

Long a bastion for the cooking crazed, J.F. Henry (West Seattle, 4445 California Ave. SW; 206.935.5150) carries the Northwest’s largest selection of dinnerware (more than 200 patterns!), as well as cooking gear, linens and handy, handsome items such as Kentucky Spring salad tongs ($19.95) made from cherry, maple and walnut.

Mrs. Cook’s (University Village, 2685 NE Village Lane; 206.525.5008) brims with a tasty inventory suited for cooks of all levels, with items such as an Emile Henry flame top tagine ($135) to a Lékué microwave rice cooker ($35), as well as cute aprons, glasses and teapots.

Find a tempting surfeit of gadgets, glassware, bakeware, cookware (a veritable Le Creuset gallery) and classes at Sur La Table (Pike Place Market, 84 Pine St., 206.448.2244; Bellevue, The Bravern, 11111 NE Eighth St., 425.450.4010; Kirkland, 90 Central Way, 425.827.1311)
